Elder Charlene Starks, a native of Chicago, Illinois, is a preacher, leader, director of worship and arts, speaker, the wife, co-laborer in ministry, and the harmony to Pastor Timothy Starks. She is known as “Lady” to the Mount Nebo Baptist Church Family in Pike Co., Georgia.

Lady Starks is characterized as an atmospherical anointed “Songbird” gifted by God for ushering in the presence of God. She has been singing and growing in the gift since the age of 3. Accepting Christ at the age of 16 she grew up singing in the choir of her father’s church Apostle Kevin E. Dean and was appointed the Director over Worship and Arts, the Young Adults choir and the Angelic Chorale for many years. Lady Starks heart of serving God has always been the thirst of her purpose leading her to answer the call into the ministry in 2009, and recently was ordained as an Elder into the Lord’s church in April of 2015.

Lady Starks gift made room for her when she became a recording artist and was also favored with several opportunities to share the platform in plays and with many other gospel artist. As God elevated and begin to open doors she ministered through song with several Community Recording Choirs such as “Tony Tidwell and Righteous Living (writer of “I Got A Testimony”), Percy Gray & Praise II ,New Direction, The New Birth Missionary Baptist Church Total Praise Choir of Lithonia, Georgia, Gospel recording artists John P. Kee, Kirk Franklin, Patti Labelle, Byron Cage, and the female group Virtuous Standard.

Lady Charlene Starks strives to march to the rhythm of a virtuous woman and lives to exemplify this to all women sharing her passion of pouring the message of hope into all women. She loves people and believes that God has her where she is to fulfill her purpose. Lady holds two degrees, Associates as a Medical Assistant, and Bachelors in HealthCare Management and serves as the servant Leader of the Women’s Ministry and Minister of Music at MNBC.

Her life scripture is Psalms 34:1 “I will bless the Lord at all times and his praises shall continually be in my mouth.” Her life saying is “Im stronger today because I refuse to settle being basic in God”.
